Lower School

In University School of Milwaukee’s Lower School, our teachers work with students in kindergarten through 4th grade to build the foundation for their students’ lifelong academic and social development. Our outstanding and recently renovated facilities support innovative teaching methods that guide students to acquire the skills necessary for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.

Our spacious classrooms utilize state-of-the-art technology and accommodate areas such as reading corners and learning-interest centers to allow students to work independently or in groups. Small class sizes afford teachers the opportunity to focus on the individualized learning styles of each child. This attention encourages every student to become a creative thinker and problem solver.

The Lower School curriculum sets high academic standards. The integration of core subjects – such as math, science, and reading – with art, music, dance, Spanish, French, physical education, library, and technology provides our students with a broad educational foundation for a lifetime of active and engaged learning.
I like going to USM because they make the learning fun. You learn a lot; you learn your math, reading, you name it - it's just a great school.
