Affording a USM Education

USM is the best investment you can make in your child's future and, on average, we spend three times the amount that other Milwaukee-area schools spend per child to educate our students. This investment leads to students are who among the best-prepared—as learners, leaders, and citizens—for college and a life of purpose.

We also understand and appreciate the financial commitment families make in sending their children to USM, and we are committed to making a USM education accessible and affordable to all families.

For the 2020-21 school year, approximately 23% of our students benefited from nearly $3.6 million in tuition assistance. This chart illustrates how this assistance is awarded by household income levels.

Tuition and Aid

The tuition amounts listed below for each grade level include tuition, enrollment fees, lunch program fees (for full-day students), and accident insurance (for full-day students). Not included in these amounts are additional mandatory and optional fees, including those listed down below.

On average, the tuition costs listed represent approximately 76% of the total amount USM spends to educate a child in that grade. The remaining amount is underwritten through the support of our generous donor community, which includes contributions to the school's endowment and annual giving program, the USM Fund.

As a convenience to parents, USM offers three different tuition payment options: a single full-pay plan (which is reflected in the tuition amounts below), a two-pay plan, and a 10-pay plan. Optional tuition refund insurance is also offered by the school.
