Lower School Student Life

In Lower School, students are introduced to a variety of fun and socially enriching activities that build a strong sense of community and school pride. Our vibrant student life also encourages relationship building and empathy.

The Lower School adheres to a dress code that meets the needs of all children. Students in kindergarten do not wear uniforms. They are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and footwear which are appropriate for active play and involvement in creative art and movement activities. Students in grades 1 through 4 are expected to arrive and depart school in uniform.

Assemblies
Assemblies provide enriching and engaging experiences as our Lower School children come together to learn presentation skills and how to be a respectful member of an audience.

Grandparents and Special Friends
Activities such as Grandparents and Special Friends Day, Upper School "Study Buddies," writing letters to pen-pals, and participating in service days encourages relationships between adults and students of all ages.

Before and After School Programs
The Before and After School Program is designed for Lower School students from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on school days. The program provides a safe "neighborhood," where children are free to unwind and get together with friends, eat a snack, do their homework, join in an activity, or play on the playgrounds.

Masquerade March
Each October, our Preschool and Lower School students march through the front circle in festive costumes, flanked by Upper School students, during our Masquerade March.

Family-style Dining
Family-style dining gives students opportunities to get to know and appreciate each other, make new friends, and socialize with teachers and students of different ages.
